The C10 was Chevrolet’s model for the lightweight truck division. The “C” stands for 4×2 trucks, whereas the “K” stands for 4×4. The C/K line of trucks was introduced during the 1960s (labels have been around for much longer) and remained mostly unchanged during the period of 1973 through 1987 (3rd generation) model years, although the 3rd generation was a huge change from previous generations and was known as the “square body”. The biggest change for 1979 was on the front-end design and had an added fuel door. During this model run, there were four trims offered: Base, Scottsdale, Cheyenne, and Silverado. The base engine was an inline-six with three different V-8 engines as optional upgrades. The C10 also came in short or long beds. This truck continues to be very popular with truck restoration enthusiasts.
