1964 Chrysler Newport

The Chrysler Newport entered the market as the least expensive Chrysler model beginning in 1961, reviving the name that had wasn’t much used since the 1950s. There were many redesigns and changes made during the early 1960s with the 1964 model seeing a return to small, chrome-topped fins and a more rectangular body. It generally came in six versions: a sedan, hardtop coupe, hardtop sedan, convertible, and two sizes of passenger wagons. The most popular choice was the sedan. It came with a three-speed manual floor-mounted transmission as standard. The Newport model name was finally discontinued around 1981.
