Today’s Classic Truck Finds 12/12/2022

The Ranchero was produced by Ford from 1957 to 1979 across seven generations. It is a coupe utility vehicle which is built on a passenger platform with a car passenger cab and a cargo bay on the back. The 1962 model was part of the second generation which ran from 1960 to 1965. For this generation’s redesign, the Ranchero was shrunk to be based on the Ford Falcon instead of the station wagon of the 1950s and proved to be very popular for combining the need for a pickup truck cargo capacity and the feel of a passenger car. There were three different inline six-cylinder and two different V8 engines offered over this generation. There was a total of 508,355 Rancheros produced over its lifetime. The Rancheros were popular enough to spawn a competitor in the Chevrolet El Camino.
