The Mercedes-Benz W114 and W115 were the names for the new generation of post-war production cars. Introduced in 1968 and running through 1976 with 44,537 models built of the W114 at its end, they were given model names based on their six-cylinder engine size – the 230, 250, and 280. The 280 had a 2.8L carbureted inline six. These were front-engine, rear-drive, newly engineered suspension sedans and coupes. Known to be very dependable cars, the W114 in 1973 received a more modern updated look.
