The Dodge Power Wagon is a four-wheel drive medium duty truck produced from 1945 to 1980 in various forms. After a lull, the Power Wagon name was brought back to be used starting in 2005 as a four-wheel drive version of the Dodge Ram 2500. It was originally based on the 3/4-ton WWII military trucks and was called the “flat fender” or “military type” Power Wagon. This Dodge was the first 4×4 medium duty truck produced for the general population from a large manufacturer and the first to offer crew cab configurations. The Power Wagon was intended to be a small, rugged, powerful, and fast truck that could perform well on and off-road. The 1960 was part of the Third Series of trucks that ran from 1956-1971. The W300 and W500 designations were known as the “Power Giants” for being heavy-duty, one ton 4×4 work trucks.
