Today’s Classic Car Finds 10/06/2023

The Mustang, in a newly created class known as the pony cars, was produced by Ford beginning in 1964. With its attractive styling, many available options, and affordability made it a widely successful car selling over 1.3 million during the first three years of production. The 1969 Mustang is part of the first generation.

This model year featured a restyled exterior and redesigned interior. It had a longer body, wider grille, and more pronounced fastback roofline. The interior had improved comfort and amenities.

The engine offerings were a variety of I6 and V8 engines as well as three main body styles: Fastback (SportsRoof), coupe, and convertible. There were also several special models available for 1969 including the Mustang Mach 1, Boss 302, and Boss 429.

A 1969 Mustang Fastback was the coveted car wanted in the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds” and a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 was driven by John Wick in the first “John Wick” movie.
