Today’s Classic Car Finds 5/9/2022

The British Triumph Spitfire is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-passenger car produced to compete in the small sports car market. It was introduced in 1962 and had continued production through 1980. It had a manually deployed convertible top as standard with a hard-top as a factory option. The Spitfire name came from a WWII fighter plane with the same name. Popular in street and rally racing, the Spitfire was conceived as a small fun sports car that offered an affordable enjoyment for most folks, hence developing an enthusiastic fan base. The 1976 model is part of the fifth generation of Spitfires.
