Today’s Classic Truck Finds 05/04/2023

The C10 was part of the lightweight truck division of the C/K series by Chevrolet. This series was produced from 1960 to 2002 across four generations. The C/K series covered a range of vehicles from lightweight pickup trucks to chassis-cab trucks and medium-duty trucks. The “C” stands for 4×2 trucks, whereas the “K” stands for 4×4. The C/K line competed with the Ford F-series and the Dodge D-series lines. The 1961 C10 is part of the first generation. For the first generation, the trucks were given a number to represent the GVWR values of 1/2 (10), 3/4 (20), and 1-ton (30) versions. One of the major new designs for this style of truck was the independent front suspension, giving it more of a car-like ride. Even though it was still considered a strong work truck, it was also marketed to families for mountain traveling and camper pulling. Body options were Stepside or Fleetside (or smooth side).
