The 1952 International L130 was part of the International Harvester Company’s L-series line that was produced from the beginning of 1950 until replaced with the R-series line in 1953. This line’s models were first sold as chassis and cab trucks and a station wagon could be ordered. They became available from light pickup trucks, metro vans, delivery trucks, small school buses all the way up to full-size tractor-trailers. The pickup trucks were available in 6- and 8-foot lengths, but on the L130 model, a 9 1/2 foot long bed was available and could be ordered with two or four rear wheels. The L-series were fully restyled and re-engineered from the previous KB series including a one-piece windshield, two-section rear window, broad fenders, single headlights, new grille, and moldings. The L130 had a 6,800 pound gross weight and had a 3,700 pound cargo capacity. It was powered by the new overhead-valve Silver Diamond Inline six 220 cu.in. 3.6L engine with a floor-shifted manual transmission.
