The 1966 Chevrolet C10 was part of a long run of pickup trucks spanning four generations from 1960 to 2002. This was the last model year of the first generation “Action Line” (1960 to 1966) of C/K trucks, where the “C” in C/K stood for 4×2 trucks and the “K” represented the 4×4 ones. One of the major new designs for this style of truck was the independent front suspension, giving it more of a car-like ride. Even though it was still considered a strong work truck with its utilitarian design, it was also marketed to families for mountain traveling and camper pulling.
The 1966 model was mainly unchanged from the 1965 model (when air conditioning was added as an option). The C10 had two bed configurations: the smooth Fleetside and the fendered Stepside along with two bed lengths.
Under the hood, the 1966 C10 offered a range of engine options. The base model featured a 250 cubic inch inline-six engine with around 155 horsepower, while additional choices included various V8 engines.
