The Dodge Power Wagon is a four-wheel drive medium duty truck produced from 1945 to 1980 in various forms. It was originally based on the 3/4-ton WWII military trucks and was called the “flat fender” or “military type” Power Wagon. This Dodge was the first 4×4 medium duty truck produced for the general population from a large manufacturer and the first to offer crew cab configurations. The Power Wagon was intended to be a small, rugged, powerful, and fast truck that could perform well on and off-road.
The 1975 model was part of the fifth generation D/W-series trucks that ran from 1972-1980. They were offered with a range of I6 or V8 engines and in several body styles including the regular cab, crew cab, and extended cab. Uses ranged from agricultural, industrial, and utility settings. It featured a distinctive front grille referred to as the “crosshair” grille, which became a signature look on Dodge trucks. 1975 also introduced emissions control systems and more fuel-efficient technologies.
