Today’s Classic Truck Finds 07/28/2023

The 1979 Ford F250 is the last of the sixth generation of Ford’s F-Series trucks, commonly known as the “Dentside”, which was introduced in 1973 and ran until 1979. This generation of F-Series trucks featured a boxy design with distinct “bump-side” body panels on the sides. The 1979 continued with the classic truck styling of its generation, including a bold front grille, dual headlights, and a sturdy rectangular body shape. The F250, classified as the 3/4 ton, offered a higher payload capacity and towing capabilities.

The F250 was available in regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab body configurations. In 1979, the trucks received refinements to the suspension and braking systems. Trim levels offered were the Custom, Ranger, Ranger XLT, and Ranger Lariat. A variety of Straight-6 and V8 engines were also offered.
