Today’s Classic Truck Finds 01/05/2023

The K10 was Chevrolet’s model for the lightweight truck division. The “C” stands for 4×2 trucks, whereas the “K” stands for 4×4. The number indicated the payload capacities with the 10 meaning 1/2 ton. The C/K line of trucks was introduced during the 1960s (labels have been around for much longer) and remained mostly unchanged until 1973 with the start of the third generation (running through 1987). The new body design was known as the “square body” and received rounded windshield corners, rounded cab corners and rounded bed corners.  Also, for 1976, after many new safety features for this generation, dual front and lap shoulder seat belts with emergency locking retractors were added. Chevy offered many engines like an inline six, V6, and V8 configurations. The K10 also came in short or long beds with the full-width Fleetside and the narrower with steps Stepside. The most popular trim offerings were the Silverado and Scottsdale. This truck continues to be very popular with truck restoration enthusiasts.
