Today’s Classic Truck Finds 8/30/2022

The 1978 Ford F-series pickup was part of the 6th generation of trucks, which was from the years of 1973 to 1979. It is known at the “dentside Ford” to many Ford fans. This generation continued to be built on the 1965 (4th generation) platform but had many modern upgrades. Four models were offered – the F100, F150, F250, and F350 along with trim options of Custom, Ranger, Ranger XLT, and Ranger Lariat (78-79). The 1978 model included a new larger single piece grill that did not include the headlights, turn signals, or Ford lettering. The Ford lettering was moved to the hood directly above the grill. Beginning in 1977, the F-series became the best-selling truck in the U.S. Camper Specials are fairly rare and were designed with extras for carrying a camper shell or pulling a camper such as: heavy-duty cooling, camper pre-wiring, a larger alternator, and many other options.
