The Edsel was an auto that was developed by the Ford Motor Company that ran from 1958 to 1960. The Villager was the intermediate trim level station wagon offered and only came in the four-door configuration. They came as a rear-wheel drive with a 361 cu. in. V8 and three-speed manual transmission as standard. The Edsel name was chosen by the Special Products Division General Manager Richard Krafve after reviewing a list of almost 8,000 suggestions sent in to Ford. Do you remember the tag line? “Once you’ve seen it, you’ll never forget it. Once you’ve owned it, you’ll never want to change.”
