The C10 was Chevrolet’s model for the lightweight truck division of the C/K series. This series was produced by General Motors from 1960 to 2002 across four generations. The C/K series covered a range of vehicles from lightweight pickup trucks to chassis-cab trucks and medium-duty trucks. The “C” stands for 4×2 trucks, whereas the “K” stands for 4×4. The C/K line competed with the Ford F-series and the Dodge D-series lines. The 1972 model was part of the second generation of C10s called the “Action Line” that ran from 1967 to 1972. There were not many changes to the truck during this time except for the drivetrain as a large-block V8 was finally offered. The Cheyenne nameplate was also introduced during this generation in 1971.
