Ponton is the German word for pontoon, referring to its pontoon design style of the time. This series was produced by Daimler-Benz as the Mercedes Benz starting in 1953. The Mercedes W105 is the internal designator for the marketed Mercedes 219, a four-door, front engine, rear-drive sedan made from 1956 through 1959. This sedan offered a 2.2L inline 6-cylinder engine.
