The Diamond T Company was founded in Chicago in 1905 by C.A. Tilt. They produced commercial and military trucks and directly competed against Mack trucks, until purchased by White Motor Company in 1958. The last Diamond T produced was in 1966. They were supposedly deemed the “Cadillac of trucks”. The company name was also supposedly created when Tilt’s father fashioned a logo featuring a big “T” framed by a diamond, which signified high quality. The company’s hood emblem on trucks was a sled dog in harness. Diamond T started out with autos, but quickly moved over into the commercial truck market in 1911.
