The President was the luxury model line produced by Studebaker from 1926 to 1942 and again from 1955 to 1958. The 1956 model was part of the fourth generation (1955 to 1958) that was reintroduced after Packard acquired the Studebaker company in 1954. The body styles offered were the two-door sedan, coupe, hardtop, and station wagon along with the four-door sedan and station wagon. A couple of 289 cid four-barrel V8 engines were offered.
