The Chevrolet Bel Air is an iconic American car that was produced by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand from 1950 to 1975. The Bel Air name was originally given to just the two-door hardtop coupe version as a luxury trim level but changed to its own body style in 1953. The 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air was part of the first generation of the model (1950-1954).

This year’s model featured a wide chrome strip of molding from the rear fender bulge to the rear bumper. The inside of this stripe was painted to match the outside body color, and “Bel Air” scripts were added inside the strip. It also boasted a curved, one-piece windshield.

The 1954 Bel Air was available in several body styles and trim levels. These included a two-door sports coupe, a two-door and four-door sedan, a four-door Beauville station wagon, and a two-door convertible.

You could choose between a 3.5L “Thriftmaster” or a 3.9L I6 “Blue Flame” engine with a manual or automatic transmission.
